Fishmonger Job Description

We need a Fishmonger that loves seafood. The postcode area is RM12.

As a fishmonger, you’ll need to know how to cut and prepare fish for customers at our Fish counter, following the instructions of our Head Manager.

Key Responsibilities – Fishmonger  

What you need to do:

• Keep the place clean and safe: This entails cleaning tools, equipment, and work locations, as well as making sure that signs are clear and up to date.
• Keeping the fish prep areas clean and organised and recording the daily temperatures of the freezers, chillers, and fridges to make sure the seafood is stored properly.
• Standing for long periods of time and lifting big boxes from time to time are part of the work.
• You’ll do a lot of different things to get our seafood ready for customers, like descaling, gutting, filleting, trimming, packing, or wrapping it up in a way that meets their needs.
• Put a selection of fish on our fish and deli counters so that customers can buy them.
• It is very important to follow health and food safety rules. There will be training (if needed)
• Food
• Check stock and freshness every day, and let them know how much stock you have.
• The shift starts at 4:30 a.m.

Fishmonger Job Requirements

What we want:

• At least two years of experience as a fishmonger is required.
• Love fish and seafood.
• You must be able to work well with others.
• You need to be able to manage your time well in order to handle a lot of duties and keep up with a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be able to speak English.
• Must be able to learn new things quickly and be flexible with what they need to know.
