• Location: Hexham General Hospital, Hexham, Tyne and Wear, England.

• Salary: Advertised at around £113,565–£150,569 per annum (pro rata).

• Employment type: Permanent.

• Work arrangement: In person, part-time (six sessions per week, equivalent to three days).

• Visa sponsorship: May be available, subject to UKVI eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist oral surgery services to patients across Northumbria and North Tyneside.

• Conduct outpatient and telephone consultations to assess, diagnose and manage oral surgery conditions.

• Perform appropriate surgical procedures under local and general anaesthesia.

• Collaborate with oral surgeons, dental professionals and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and coordinate patient care.

• Support effective treatment delivery in line with NHS referral-to-treatment targets.

• Provide services across designated Trust hospital locations.

• Contribute to clinical governance, audits and service improvement initiatives.

• Support the training, supervision and professional development of colleagues.

• Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold patient safety standards.

Requirements

Essential requirements

• Full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).

• Full specialist registration in Oral Surgery with the GDC.

• Specialist Oral Surgery qualification, including M. Oral Surg (RCS).

• Specialist training equivalent to UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) requirements.

• Applicants approaching completion of specialist training may apply if within six months of obtaining their CCT.

• Good understanding of clinical governance and patient safety.

• Full driving licence and ability to travel between hospital sites.

Desirable requirements

• Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination (ISFE) in Oral Surgery.

• Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualification.

• Experience conducting clinical audits.

• Previous experience as a clinical or educational supervisor.

• Experience supervising Specialty Registrars.

• Additional teaching or educational qualifications.
