Care Assistant Job Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant, you will:

• Help those who are going from the hospital back to their homes
• Help those who use services get their independence and confidence back.
• Give care that follows the individualised care plans

Help with:

• Taking care of yourself
• Giving medicine
• Checking vital signs
• Support for exercise and rehabilitation
• Household chores

Talk to healthcare workers, including district nurses and pharmacies

Working Hours

• Shifts from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM
• Contracts for full-time work (up to 40 hours a week)

Salary and Benefits

• £13 to £15 an hour
• Pay for mileage: 35p per mile
• Training and a DBS check that you pay for
• Career growth (Level 2 and 3 Diplomas, specialised training)

Requirements for a Care Assistant Job

What you need:

• Required: a full UK driving licence and access to your own car
• Experience in home care is a plus (at least one year), but not required because comprehensive training will be given in person.
• Being able to read and follow care plans
• Being able to operate alone and with others
• Basic computer abilities for writing and reporting
• Being able to work different shifts to fulfil the needs of service consumers
• Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to get along with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
