Description

• Design, build, and operate resilient infrastructure across Azure and AWS
• Build reusable cloud infrastructure and deployment patterns
• Help development teams select cloud services based on performance, resilience, security, operational complexity and cost
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and native cloud templates
• Implement version control, automated validation, deployment controls and policy guardrails
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Automate build, testing, security scanning, artefact management and deployment activities
• Support containerised workloads using Docker, AKS, EKS, ECS and Azure Container Apps
• Create self-service platform capabilities, reusable infrastructure modules, standard hosting patterns, secrets and configuration management, CI/CD pipelines and golden paths
• Improve monitoring, centralised logging, alerting, availability and visibility
• Support incident investigation, root-cause analysis, backup and recovery, resilience and disaster-recovery planning
• Automate repetitive infrastructure, deployment and operational activities
• Embed cloud security through IAM, RBAC, workload identities, secrets and certificate management, network segmentation, vulnerability management, logging and auditability
• Improve cloud spend visibility, ownership, tagging, budgets, anomaly detection, resource utilisation, rightsizing, storage optimisation and forecasting
• Help design cloud infrastructure for AI-enabled applications, dynamic workloads, event-driven architectures and high-performance compute
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, application and business teams to improve cloud delivery and operations

Requirements

• Proven experience building, operating and troubleshooting workloads across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
• Strong expertise in declarative Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
• Practical scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar technologies
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Strong Git and modern source-control practices
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VNets/VPCs, routing, firewalls, load balancing, DNS and private connectivity
• Knowledge of IAM, RBAC, workload identities and secure cloud configuration
• Experience operating production services, including monitoring, logging, incident investigation, resilience, backup and recovery
• Practical understanding of cloud cost drivers and experience analysing, optimising and forecasting cloud expenditure
• Comfortable working in Agile, Scrum or Kanban environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, infrastructure, networking and cloud services
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with developers, security engineers, infrastructure teams, architects and business stakeholders
• Azure and/or AWS certifications are nice to have
• FinOps Foundation certification or significant practical FinOps experience is nice to have
• Kubernetes certification or significant Kubernetes experience is nice to have
• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service cloud capabilities is nice to have
• Experience with Azure Landing Zones or AWS Control Tower is nice to have
• Experience supporting AI or machine-learning workloads is nice to have
• Experience supporting GPU or other high-performance cloud workloads is nice to have
• Experience working in large, distributed or multi-business environments is nice to have
