Job Summary
BRVTH Care is a care group situated in the West of Scotland that is growing. We currently have 3 modest nursing homes and are looking to have four houses by the end of the year. We plan other acquisitions in the surrounding area as we continue to build high-quality care services.
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Care Audit & Compliance Officer to guarantee our residential and nursing services continue to meet national regulatory standards. This person will be responsible for planning, delivery and reporting of comprehensive audits across all services, driving continuous quality improvement and ensuring high-quality care for all residents.
The selected applicant will work closely with Registered Managers, Service Managers, operational teams and head office colleagues to ensure the organization is compliant with Care Inspectorate (CI) criteria and organisational policy.
Key Responsibilities • Compliance Audits & Inspections
- Conduct full audits in all BRVTH Care settings in accordance with CI and other regulations.
- Identify non-compliance areas, identify hazards, and create action strategies.
- Inform Registered Managers and Service Managers of audit results and specify clear timelines for improvements.
- Produce comprehensive written audit reports and monitor ongoing initiatives.
- Monitor progress and ensure that improvement plans are delivered within the stipulated timescales.
Quality Assurance and Risk Management
- Manage quality assurance for regulated services, monitoring trends and problem areas.
- To monitor and respond to safeguarding problems, guaranteeing conformity with current legislation and best practice.
- Support teams to enable continual quality improvements and service delivery.
- Raise serious issues using the governance mechanisms.
Reporting and Communications
Prepare short and unambiguous reports on the findings of the audit, safeguarding issues and compliance performance.
Report findings to senior management, including Registered Managers and the Registered Provider.
Set performance targets and monitor compliance with approved actions.
Ensure that all documentation and correspondence is accurately and privately documented.
Working with Stakeholders
Liaise with external regulatory bodies such as the Care Inspectorate.
Establish positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide guidance, assistance and training to enhance compliance and standards of care.
Business Development & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with managers in achieving organisational performance goals.
- Support service development projects that will improve quality and resident experience.
- Identify opportunities to improve governance, risk management and clinical compliance systems.
General Management
- Conduct internal audits and governance assessments at all BRVTH Care facilities.
- Provide specialist guidance on compliance, governance, safeguarding and regulatory issues.
- Keep up with legislative changes, industry norms, and best practice in the area.
Essential Criteria: Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in compliance and audit management in health or social care.
- Good awareness of the regulatory framework for care homes and supported living services.
- Ability to assess data, recognise patterns, and drive improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing skills.
- Ability to influence and work with staff at all levels.
- Strong organisational abilities and capacity to manage many priorities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of comprehensive compliance management in Care home
- Management certification in Health and Social Care or comparable experience
- NVQ Level 3 or 4.
- Understanding of Care Inspectorate regulations and quality frameworks.
- Experience executing audits and compliance operations in a regulatory care environment.
