Summary of Job
We are seeking a committed and experienced Nursing Home Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our assisted living and elder care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of high-quality care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a team of health care professionals. The work offers the ability to make a real difference to the lives of people, particularly those requiring specialised dementia and alzheimer’s care. The ideal candidate would have good management abilities, good nursing experience, and a caring attitude towards elder care.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire operation of the care facility in conformity with legal and organisational norms
- Develop, execute, and evaluate individualised care plans for residents, including those with dementia or requiring Alzheimer’s care
- Experience in supervising and supporting nursing personnel and carers, with the ability to develop a healthy team atmosphere through good leadership and supervision skills
- Supervise the delivery of medication to ensure careful adherence to safety procedures.
- Organise personnel rotas and manage the allocation of resources to maximise service delivery
- Manage quality assurance activities and conduct periodic audits to ensure high standards of care
- Coordinate residents’ care effectively through liaison with families, health care providers, and external agencies
- Lead ongoing improvement activities in resident wellbeing and staff development
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws in the care home environment
Qualifications
- Experience in a care/nursing home setting. Nursing experience.
- Previous experience in a care home or comparable workplace with proven leadership skills
- Registered Nurse qualification recognised in the UK (or similar)
- Expertise in principles of dementia care, approaches to Alzheimer’s care, and procedures for administering medicine
- Experience in developing individualised care plans to meet individual requirements
- Good organising abilities and able to manage multiple priorities successfully
- Compassionate manner and good communication skills appropriate for working with residents, family, and multi-disciplinary team.
