The States of Guernsey are looking for a Support Worker to join the Autism Hub at Le Vieux Jardin. The Hub provides 24-hour support to eight adults with Autism and/or profound and multiple learning disabilities, each living in their own purpose-built bungalow.
Staff use the Active Support Model, focusing on doing things with people, not for them, promoting choice, independence, and participation at every opportunity to help service users participate in daily living tasks such as personal care, medication management, cooking, cleaning, shopping, managing finances, and accessing the community.
You will work alongside colleagues and senior staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and act as a co-key worker for allocated service users. Staff are required to be committed, reliable, and passionate about supporting others to live meaningful and independent lives.
Flexibility is essential, as the role involves working a 24-hour shift system, including nights and weekends. A full driving licence is required, and you must be willing to drive service vehicles.
