Job Summary
Are you interested in a career in the field of eating disorders dietetics? We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Registered Dietitian to join our team of dietitians working within a large specialist mental health and learning disabilities NHS Foundation Trust. This rare and exciting post provides an opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Adult Eating Disorders day service.
This post will involve working with service users who have been referred to intensive day treatment within the community. The post will involve working in a small team of nutritionists, band 6 and 7 dietitians, and various MDT members. The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in policy development, audit, research activities, pathway development, and staff and student training.
Main duties of the job
Candidates should be a Registered Dietitian, preferably with some experience/placement exposure of working in a mental health setting, with excellent communication and IT skills. A working knowledge of behaviour change and motivational interviewing would be desirable. Regular clinical supervision with the Specialist Dietitian will be provided and there will be a strong emphasis on Continued Professional Development and post-graduate training.
We can either recruit a Band 6 Specialist Dietitian or a band 5 Graduate Dietitian supporting development to a Band 6 level, dependent on experience.

- Appropriate professional qualification in Dietetics
- Current relevant registration with specific regulatory body
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) level 7 (SLT =8) for International recruits

- Post graduate training in relevant specialist area
Experience

- Minimum 12 months post qualifying experience of Dietetic delivery /completion of AYSE for social work (post 2012) pre 2012 evidence of experience in accordance with professional capabilities framework for an experienced social worker

- Experience of supporting people with mental health issues, learning disability or autism
- Experience of working in Multidisciplinary Team (SW essential criteria)
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of managing complex Dietetic cases
- Clinical risk assessment and application in practice
Knowledge

- Understanding of the needs of service users with mental health conditions or learning disabilities.
- Legal literacy (social work only remove for others)

- Knowledge of evidence based practice in designated specialist area
- Post graduate training in specialist area if applicable to post (e.g. dysphagia, autism diagnostics
- Awareness of professional standards and its application to practice
