Job Summary
We currently have an opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our progressive and dynamic Occupational Therapy Department within Cambridge University Hospital.
By working with us, you would be supported to develop your Occupational Therapy clinical expertise and promote the benefits of Occupational Therapy within the hospital. Therefore, we are looking for applicants who are committed to providing a high-quality therapy provision and passionate about the profession.
There will be opportunities to be involved in a wide range of service development in shaping the care we provide to our patients.
We will provide robust supervision, and there is extensive peer support across the multi-disciplinary team, as well as an excellent departmental training programme.
Main duties of the job
This post would be suitable for a qualified Occupational Therapist looking to expand their existing knowledge and skills in a fast-paced acute NHS setting.
As part of an innovative Occupational Therapy department, you would be under the supervision of an experienced Occupational Therapist and would be provided with a comprehensive induction and ongoing education and training.
You will ensure a safe, efficient, and effective delivery of occupational therapy and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams.

Qualifications
Essential
- Occupational Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Degree or Diploma of Occupational Therapy
- IELTS level 7 (for those applying internationally)
Desirable
- Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
Experience
Essential
- A broad range of fieldwork placements
- Application of the Occupational Therapy process – for example, assessment, treatment and moving and handling
- Experience of caseload management
- Experience in moving and handling patients
Desirable
- Experience of working in an acute hospital
- NHS experience
Knowledge
Essential
- To have a working knowledge of the Occupational Therapy process
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice
- Knowledge of research principles
- To have a broad overview of the role of an Occupational Therapist in an acute setting
