Qualifications

Essential

• Occupational Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
• Degree or Diploma of Occupational Therapy
• IELTS level 7 (for those applying internationally)

Desirable

• Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists

Experience

Essential

• A broad range of fieldwork placements
• Application of the Occupational Therapy process – for example, assessment, treatment and moving and handling
• Experience of caseload management
• Experience in moving and handling patients

Desirable

• Experience of working in an acute hospital
• NHS experience

Knowledge

Essential

• To have a working knowledge of the Occupational Therapy process
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice
• Knowledge of research principles
• To have a broad overview of the role of an Occupational Therapist in an acute setting
