An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated radiographer to join the advanced practitioner team as a trainee in plain film reporting. Your key focus will be to start with chest & abdomen reporting and progress in the future to MSK reporting.
Desirable criteria
- Substantial post-qualification experience in a general radiology department, ideally at a Band 6 level essential
- Experience in CT & Intervention desirable.
- Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
- Evidence of leadership, service improvement, and teaching skills
Main duties of the job
- To carry out a full range of imaging examinations pertinent to the specialist area to a consistently high standard, ensuring compliance with imaging protocols.
- To study/train to be an autonomous clinical reporter of plain film within the scope of practice.
- To study/train to provide an autonomous expert opinion to the referring clinicians.
- Be willing to participate in any study (including self-study) required to maintain competence and to expand current practice.
- Provider of clinical knowledge and skills within the area of speciality, i.e., plain film radiography
- To teach and supervise radiographers, students, and apprentices.
- To liaise with other staff and to be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the associated speciality area in accordance with Trust/departmental protocols and provide management guidance during the absence of the Lead Radiographer.
- Once qualified, assume responsibility for reporting own workload and accessing associated patient pathways.
