Position Summary

DUTIES

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and label them correctly under the supervision of a professional chemist.
• Assist with medicine dispensing procedures, such as filling and labelling prescriptions to be picked up or delivered to patients.
• Communicating with patients to give clear instructions on the use of medication, potential adverse effects and answering simple enquiries to improve their understanding.
• Keep accurate records of dispensed drugs, inventory and transaction logs to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Assist with inventory control by replenishing shelves, verifying expiration dates, and placing orders for medication supplies as needed.
• Consult with the chemists to confirm the prescription details and address any anomalies or concerns straight away.
• Maintain all safety and confidentiality standards to preserve patient information and provide a secure pharmacy environment.

Experience

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a related healthcare support function is preferred.
• Your efficiency in this capacity is enhanced by your knowledge of medication administration methods and pharmacy software systems.
• Accurate dispensing and recordkeeping require strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• With good communication skills you are able to communicate comfortably with patients and health care providers
• This initiative to learn new techniques and keep compliance with pharmaceutical laws is really appreciated.
