About the role

Are you a caring, enthusiastic, and experienced support worker looking to make a real difference in someone’s life? We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Care/Support Worker to join one of our friendly teams of Personal Assistants in the Blackburn area. This is a unique opportunity to support one of our clients, a highly intelligent gentleman with Cerebral Palsy, who truly enjoys deep and meaningful conversations and debates. He is not just a person in a wheelchair; he is an individual with a rich inner life and a desire to engage with the world around him.

In this incredibly rewarding role, you’ll be supporting one of our amazing clients to live independently and confidently in their own home. Every day will be different — from assisting with clinical care and personal support, to offering genuine companionship and helping them enjoy life to the fullest. Whether it’s going for walks, grabbing a coffee in town, or even heading out for a swim, you’ll be a key part in supporting them both in their own home and out in the community.

Your responsibilities will extend beyond basic care, encompassing a holistic approach to support. You will be instrumental in facilitating his engagement with various interests, whether it’s discussing current affairs, exploring philosophical concepts, or delving into his passions. This role requires someone who is not only compassionate and reliable but also intellectually curious and able to connect on a deeper level. You will empower him to pursue his personal goals and participate actively in community life, fostering a sense of independence and well-being. It is important to be aware that our client has allergies, so you will need to be mindful of any animal hair on your clothes, particularly if you have pets. The use of perfume / scented body spray is also not permitted.

You must have a full clean driving licence and be over the age of 25 to drive the clients Wheelchair accessible vehicle

lives. You’ll only be working with one client, which enables you to truly get to know them and make a meaningful difference each day.

We have two positions available

15.25 HOURS PER WEEK

A Casual Role

In return, Salvere Support offers:

• A rate of pay of: £13.05 per hour

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training, and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive to meet their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Who we are looking for:

You must be self-motivated, well organised, reliable, and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:

• Positive behaviour management and supporting anxiety.
• Personal care, including support with showering, drying, and dressing.
• Providing companionship, including getting out in the community (including swimming)
• Medication administration.

You should also have:

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. You must also have eligibility to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship
