Job Summary
Responsible for the implementation of effective quality neonatal care to infants requiring Special Care, under the supervision of the registered nurse, following a holistic family-centred model of practice.
Main duties of the job
- Undertakes direct patient care to infants requiring Special Care within the scope of N.N.E.B diploma qualification or equivalent, under the supervision of a trained nurse
- Competent in the use of specific medical devices required for the provision of special care
- Contributes to resource management of the NICU/TCW

Essential
- Proven evidence of personal or professional development
- Demonstrable experience of working with parents & families
- Demonstrable experience in the use of computers
- Recent demonstrable experience working with infants within a Special Care Baby Unit
Desirable
- Interest & academic proven ability to undertake further training within the speciality of neonatal nursing
Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject or demonstrable experience
Desirable
- NNEB Diploma/NVQ 4 or equivalent qualification
- NNEB Advanced Practice Computer Literate (ECDL)

- Can demonstrate competence in numeracy and literacy
