Summary

We are looking for a General Kitchen Assistant who is driven and dependable to help our cooking staff. This job is great for people who love working in food service and want to improve their skills in a busy kitchen. Responsibilities

• Help with meal and food prep, such as organising ingredients and doing basic cooking activities.
• Help with catering by getting the food ready and setting up the service areas.
• Keep the kitchen surfaces, tools, and equipment clean and organised.
• Help with serving meals to consumers or personnel in a way that meets sanitary standards
• Always follow food safety rules, such as how to store and handle ingredients correctly.
• Help the staff out when things get busy so that meals and services are delivered on time.

Requirements

• It would be helpful to have worked in catering, cooking, or restaurants before, but it is not necessary; training will be given.
• A basic understanding of cleanliness and food safety rules
• Ability to get things done quickly in a busy kitchen
• Ability to pay attention to details and stay organised
• Being willing to acquire new techniques for cooking and handling food
• A kind demeanour and great communication and teamwork skills
• Be able to work different shifts as needed, even on weekends if necessary.
