Lead and manage the Trust’s financial services portfolio, ensuring effective financial operations and reporting.

Oversee financial accounting activities and ensure compliance with statutory and non-statutory financial obligations.

Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls, and high-quality financial reporting.

Work closely with senior finance leaders, finance business partners, charitable funds teams, and internal and external auditors.

Provide expert financial advice and management support to the Associate Director of Finance.
-
Deputise for the Associate Director of Finance when required.

Analyse complex financial information to support operational decisions and improve financial performance.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with clinical and non-clinical managers and external stakeholders.

Contribute to the delivery of efficient healthcare services through sound financial management.
Requirements

Professional qualification: Must hold a recognised CCAB accountancy qualification.

Professional development: Evidence of continuous professional development.

NHS financial expertise: Strong knowledge of NHS accounting procedures, financial systems, and financial responsibilities.

Accounting standards: Detailed understanding of International Accounting Standards and their application.

Financial forecasting: Experience developing income, expenditure, and activity forecasts, including scenario modelling.

Analytical skills: Ability to solve complex financial and non-financial problems using data analysis and benchmarking.

Healthcare experience: Experience working with clinical and non-clinical care groups; previous NHS Foundation Trust experience is desirable.

Technical skills: Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Communication: Excellent written, verbal, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.

Leadership: Ability to lead finance professionals, collaborate across departments, and constructively challenge financial decisions.

Organisation: Ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict deadlines, and handle sensitive financial information.

English proficiency: Ability to communicate effectively in English.

UK professional registration: Must have current UK professional registration.

Additional advantage: Experience with E-Financials, PLICS costing software, and Business Objects.
