This job is a great chance to work with a wide range of database technologies in a fast-paced setting, helping to keep the organization’s data safe and its operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • To keep downtime to a minimum, make sure you have high availability and disaster recovery solutions in place.
  • Tune and optimise the performance of SQL queries, stored procedures, and the database systems as a whole.
  • Create and put into place security mechanisms for databases to keep private data safe.
  • To make sure the data is safe, you should handle the operations of backing up, restoring, and replicating databases.
  • Write and keep up with complicated scripts in PL/SQL, T-SQL, Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, and other languages for automating tasks and integrating systems.
  • Keep an eye on database performance measurements and fix problems before they happen.
  • Work with development teams to create databases, improve schemas, and connect applications using SSIS or comparable tools.
  • Write down the setups, methods, and standards for your document database so that you may share information and stay compliant.

Experience

  • Proven expertise in managing databases on a variety of platforms, such as MySQL, Oracle, Linux-based systems, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • A good grasp of high availability architectures, including clustering, replication, and mirroring.
  • Experience putting database design ideas and best practices for scalable systems into action.
  • Being able to use performance optimisation strategies on big datasets.
  • Able to write complicated SQL queries and stored procedures in either PL/SQL or T-SQL.
  • You need to know how to use scripting languages like Bash (Unix shell) or Shell Scripting to automate processes.
  • Knowledge of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for moving data and ETL (extract, transform, load) operations.
  • It would be good to know how to manage Linux servers that host databases.
  • It is preferred if you have experience managing huge datasets in business settings. This job offers a fun place for experts who love keeping databases safe and running well so that they can help businesses expand and come up with new ideas.
