Summary of the Job

Responsibilities
- Use systems like MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server to design, build, and keep up strong database architectures.

- Tune and optimise the performance of SQL queries, stored procedures, and the database systems as a whole.

- To make sure the data is safe, you should handle the operations of backing up, restoring, and replicating databases.
- Write and keep up with complicated scripts in PL/SQL, T-SQL, Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, and other languages for automating tasks and integrating systems.
- Keep an eye on database performance measurements and fix problems before they happen.
- Work with development teams to create databases, improve schemas, and connect applications using SSIS or comparable tools.
- Write down the setups, methods, and standards for your document database so that you may share information and stay compliant.
Experience
- Proven expertise in managing databases on a variety of platforms, such as MySQL, Oracle, Linux-based systems, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- A good grasp of high availability architectures, including clustering, replication, and mirroring.
- Experience putting database design ideas and best practices for scalable systems into action.
- Being able to use performance optimisation strategies on big datasets.
- Able to write complicated SQL queries and stored procedures in either PL/SQL or T-SQL.
- You need to know how to use scripting languages like Bash (Unix shell) or Shell Scripting to automate processes.
- Knowledge of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for moving data and ETL (extract, transform, load) operations.
- It would be good to know how to manage Linux servers that host databases.
