Community Care Worker – UK Visa Sponsorship Available

OakShed Care is a home care organization in Camborne that helps people throughout all of West Cornwall. We are looking for community care professionals who are devoted, kind, and want to make a real difference in the lives of others. In this profession, you might feel deeply fulfilled knowing that your labour has brought comfort and joy to the people you care for.

Having worked in care before is helpful, but not necessary. We put candidates who share our basic principles first.

The ideal individuals will get a lot of training so that they may learn the skills and knowledge they need to give our service users the best care possible.

Please be aware that this job requires an upgraded DBS check, two good references, and the completion of required training.

Candidates must have their own car and a full UK driving licence.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Helping with all parts of personal care, such as showering, stripping, washing, bathing, brushing teeth, grooming, and getting dressed, among other things.
• Helping with all toileting and continence needs, such as changing pads and keeping the skin healthy.
• Making meals, drinks, and snacks and serving them at the right times.
• Helping with feeding and making sure the person has enough food and water.
• Helping with medicine (after testing for competency)
• Helping with shopping and planning.
• Doing minor housework, like vacuuming, washing dishes, and so on.
• Helping people go to see other health professionals, including a hospital, a doctor, or a dentist.
• Listening to and talking to service users to give them emotional support is a key part of providing care and support.

Having someone to talk to and do pleasant things with, like watching films and playing cards

• Going on travels and vacations with them
• Help the Service User take care of their dogs’ health.

• Time spent travelling is paid for

45p per mile for mileage
