This is a multifaceted role that entails providing daily high-quality support to the nursing team while working independently within competencies to a population with a complex range of mental health, physical, psychological, substance abuse, and social problems, while maintaining a high level of awareness of and compliance with security procedures within the prison setting at HMP Glenochil.

The Clinical Support Worker plays a crucial role in the large multidisciplinary team whose overall goal is to enhance the physical, mental, and overall well-being of prisoners, support rehabilitation, and contribute to the offender outcome strategy by assisting clinicians in providing each patient with high-quality, efficient, and effective care at any stage of their healthcare journey.

It is crucial to be able to provide excellent, person-centred care and collaborate well with others. It is essential to have a strong desire to improve clinical and interpersonal skills that are suitable and satisfactory.

Those with relevant healthcare expertise, SVQ3/related healthcare experience, and venepuncture skills are encouraged to apply.

The Agenda for Change full-time working week will drop from 37 to 36 hours starting on 1/4/26. There will be a pro rata reduction in part-time hours. To ensure that pay is unaffected, there will be a matching rise in the hourly rate.
