You have a fantastic opportunity to work with us in our Safeguarding Hub as an Assistant Care Manager. In order to provide a statutory social work service to people in the West Sussex area, you will collaborate with our social work team and other health care professionals.

Hub for Safeguarding:

• Serve as a single point of contact for all recommendations from safeguarding adults.
  perform the preliminary screening and decision-making for referrals related to safeguarding.
• Conduct risk assessments
• Accept and start the first safeguarding plans.
• Collaborate with other organisations to manage risk, such as the police, service providers, housing authorities, and others.
• Give Adults’ Services and associated organisations assistance and knowledge regarding statutory safeguarding obligations and procedures.

The team receives referrals from a variety of sources and serves the entirety of West Sussex, including:

• People in the public
• Worried residents’ friends and family
• The police
• The ambulance service
• Coworkers in health
• Care facilities
• Other carers.

We offer a fantastic opportunity to become an Advanced Assistant Care Manager at our helpful Safeguarding Adults Hub.

The Safeguarding Hub’s staff decides if a referral should be pursued as a safeguarding issue or inquiry or whether there is another, more suitable path, such as evaluating the individual’s social care need.

Making sure the person being recommended remains at the centre of the decision-making process is a top focus for the team. This entails getting their opinions—or those of people who are close to them—about what they hope to get out of the process. The decision-making process will also take into account the person’s mental competence and may involve enlisting the help of an advocate to help them navigate the safeguarding adults process.

The hub has strong ties to Sussex Police, the ambulance service, the Care Quality Commission, and health services, and like all our teams, collaboration and collaborative working are essential components of decision-making. Additionally, they collaborate closely with hospital and community teams, serving as a point of contact for safeguarding advice and guidance as well as recommending individuals following the initial triage and planning. Additionally, they usually assist less experienced staff members and other Adults’ Services departments.

This recently formed position mixes using your abilities and experience to apply data analysis to assist the team’s growth and operation with making quick, sound decisions about safeguarding referrals. Along with creating and presenting presentations on safeguarding adults work to various groups, you will also be in charge of new hire orientation.
