Job Overview

Do you have experience within a Production or warehousing environment? Are you based in or around Sittingbourne?

We have a temporary role available within DS Smith’s Paper Mill. The successful applicant will be a good communicator who is proactive, reliable, and thrives in a production environment.

Rate:

• £12.72 per hour days
• £13.91 per hour Nights
• £16.00 per hour on the clamp

Shift Patterns: 62 hours

• 2 weeks of days, Mon-Fri 5.30am-17.30pm
• 2 weeks of nights, Mon-Fri 17.30pm – 5.30am
• 1 week of days, Mon-Thurs (Fri off) 5.30am – 17.30pm
• Start: ASAP (within 1-2 weeks)

Responsibilities:

● Manually loading and unloading goods
● Scanning items
● Ensuring all materials are secured
● Managing the movement of vehicles in the bay and communicating with drivers.
● Verifying incoming and outgoing shipments and updating inventory records
● Following appropriate procedures as trained at all times
● Adhering to a high level of UK Health and Safety at all times
● Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within the department

Essential requirements:

● Previous experience within a production, machine operation or industrial environment
● Ability to perform physically demanding, manual work for extended periods.
● Strong attention to detail
● Good knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
● A proactive approach to tasks and the ability to work on one’s own initiative
● Approachable individual who can also work as part of a team
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
