Job Overview

In order to support children and young people who take on caring responsibilities at home, we are looking for an enthusiastic Early Help Professional (Young Carers).

About you

Children and young people who take on practical or emotional caregiving duties for a family member who is physically or mentally ill, disabled, or impacted by substance abuse might benefit greatly from the Young Carers Service. We are looking for someone who is motivated, kind, and acutely aware of the potential safeguarding difficulties faced by young carers.

Important duties

As an Early Help Professional for Young Carers, you will:
advocate for the needs and rights of young carers, proactively triage and process referrals, organise needs assessments and reviews, and organise multi-agency support plans that minimise inappropriate care, protect and promote wellbeing, safeguard education, and facilitate seamless transitions (16–18) into adult services; lead on timely, high-quality transition assessments for young carers approaching adulthood

Create strategies and interventions that allow youth up to the age of 18 to engage in a variety of universal activities that promote their growth, well-being, and help them fulfil their roles as young carers

operate as an authority on the subject under their purview and offer assistance, counsel, and training to other professionals, such as social workers and Early Help Professionals on Young Carers, as needed.
