Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
• Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice

Desirable

• Care Certificate

Knowledge/Experience

Essential

• Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting, either paid or voluntary
• Understanding of the scope of the role of the nursing associate in the context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development

Desirable

• Lived experience of mental health issues

Skills

Essential

• Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers
• Courteous, respectful, and helpful at all times
• Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
• ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
• Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional
• intermediate IT skills, including a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
• The ability to use clinical systems
• Ability to administer injections with good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to travel across the designated area in response to service needs
