Job Summary

The Band 6 Radiographer role at King’s College Hospital offers a varied and rewarding opportunity within a leading teaching hospital. You will work across two specialist radiology modalities — such as Cath Labs, Interventional Radiology (IR), or CT — as part of highly skilled multidisciplinary teams, applying expert X-ray imaging knowledge in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Main duties of the job

• To work as a Band 6 Radiographer within a team of highly skilled and dedicated staff, delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred imaging services.
• To enhance and develop existing clinical skills while gaining valuable leadership and supervisory experience, supporting junior staff, and contributing to the day-to-day operational delivery of the service.
• To work across dual specialist modalities (CT/Cath, CT/IR, or IR/Cath Labs), developing advanced modality-specific skills within a busy tertiary and teaching hospital environment.
• To participate fully in a comprehensive and structured training programme across all specialist areas, achieving required competencies before undertaking autonomous practice.
• To contribute to out-of-hours and weekend services once appropriately trained and deemed competent.
• To work effectively as part of multidisciplinary teams, maintaining high standards of clinical practice, professionalism, and patient care.
• To actively engage in continuing professional development, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
• To practice in accordance with Trust policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements, upholding the Trust values of kindness, respectfulness, and teamwork at all times.
