Personal Assistant (Support Worker) – Accrington Area
Hours:
Hours:
- Term time: 4 hours per week (38 weeks per year)
- School holidays: 6 hours per week (14 weeks per year)
- Rate: £12.21 per hour
- Days/Times: Flexible, ideally all hours worked on one day.
- Term time: One after-school evening (not Tuesday)
- School holidays: One full weekday – Tuesday fine not in term time
- No weekends
We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and confident Personal Assistant to support a creative, fun-loving teenage girl in the Accrington area. The role focuses on helping her access her local community, develop independence, and enjoy meaningful, social activities.
She is an amazing, cheeky, artistic young person who loves singing, art, bowling, cinema trips, shopping, walking, and visiting parks. She is verbal; however, she usually communicates to meet her needs or to express her needs, but is not able to hold a full conversation. Although she experiences communication challenges, she thrives on social interaction and enjoys being out and about.

About the Role:
- Supporting community access and independence, while supervising the young person at all times
- Planning and attending fun, engaging outings
- Encouraging communication and confidence
- Providing consistent, positive support
- Ensuring safety and comfort at all times
- Being mindful that she has a phobia of dogs
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience & understanding of autism, learning disability, and phobias
- Kind, patient, and creative
- Able to engage positively with a young person
- Reliable and able to work independently
- A good communicator
- Someone who enjoys fun activities and getting out in the community
