Description

• Provide specialist contraception and integrated sexual health services to patients across South Essex.

• Work at Basildon Clinic and satellite clinics in Rayleigh and Canvey Island.

• Assess and treat patients with sexual health and contraceptive needs.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across primary, secondary and community healthcare services.

• Support training and educational programmes for healthcare professionals and patients.

• Prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and maintain high standards of patient care.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of sexual health services.

• Work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, at NHS Band 6 level.

Requirements

• Hold current UK professional registration relevant to the nursing role.

• Have current practical experience in contraception.

• Possess basic training and experience in sexually transmitted infection (STI) management.

• Demonstrate relevant experience in integrated sexual health services.

• Show evidence of recent professional development and updated sexual health knowledge.

• Have experience working with Patient Group Directions (PGDs).

• Demonstrate clinical supervision skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary NHS team.

• Be willing to develop further STI management skills.

• Desirable qualifications and skills:

  • Diploma in the CoSRH (Certificate of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare) or equivalent relevant training.

  • Training and mentorship skills.

  • Letter of Competence in sub-dermal implant insertion and removal.

  • Letter of Competence in intrauterine techniques.
