Essential

• BTEC or NVQ level III
• Education to GCSE/equivalent grade C in 3 subjects, including Maths and English

• Other related clinical qualification

Knowledge and Training

Essential

• Knowledge across the range of Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy practices in an acute hospital trust
• Specific knowledge relating to medical conditions and therapy interventions to treat and discharge patients appropriately
• Proven relevant experience as an Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant at Band 3
• Knowledge of the wider multi-disciplinary team
• Basic knowledge of principles and practice of clinical governance

Desirable

• Evidence of theoretical knowledge and continuous professional development

Experience

Essential

• Ability to work within a level of competence and to therapy guidelines for specific conditions. To seek support when a patient falls outside the agreed remit/competence
• Ability to build effective working relationships

• Ability to deliver training to other staff members
