Education and Qualifications

Essential

• Level 4 in Anatomical pathology technology or equivalent experience, and be willing to complete the Level 4 training as soon as the trust can support this
• Degree qualification or relevant experience.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• Substantial experience of routine and specialised post-mortems
• Evidence of understanding and experience in complying with HTA regulations
• Evidence of understanding and experience in complying with clinical governance, UKAS standards and Health and Safety legislation.
• Working knowledge of writing SOPs and record keeping
• Be able to deal with the physical and emotional aspects of work in mortuary and bereavement services

Desirable

• Experience taking consent
• Experience in training staff members on a variety of procedures
