Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

Essential

• Registered pharmacy technician in the UK by the GPhC / registered Science Manufacturing Technician (Apprenticeship Standard- Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Aseptic Pharmaceuticals processing) in UK by the Science Council
• Numerate and literate e.g., GCSE in Maths and English 5-9 or equivalent or IELTS test score 7 as required by GPhC if overseas candidate
• One of the following additional pharmacy qualifications – Accredited Checking PT (ACPT), Pre and In Processing Checking (PIPC), medicine management accreditation, TAQA assessor, CIPS level 4, foundation management or equivalent demonstrable experience of day-to-day operational management of staff and workload.
• Achieve and maintain in-house competencies in all relevant areas of practice
• Completion of the Practice supervisor programme or equivalent. Or able to complete within 12 months in post
• Experience of working in a pharmacy aseptic unit relevant to the role
• Supervisory experience in a pharmacy aseptic unit
• Experience in training staff in communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with members of the healthcare and pharmacy team.

Desirable

• Experience in staff management/operational workload supervision
• Additional pharmacy qualifications, such as the APTUK Foundation Framework
• Experience in rota management
• Experience of using computerised Pharmacy stock control systems, e.g., CMM. Experience of using electronic prescribing and compounding management systems e.g., Medcura.
