We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants with a great sense of humour to join our team on a full-time/part-time / bank basis. Britannia Social Care is rated GOOD by the Care Quality Commission, and is one of the preferred/recommended providers of Home Care in Hampshire.
In this role, you will provide the most essential support to individuals in their own homes, ensuring their comfort and well-being at all times. Your ability to communicate effectively and follow care plans will be vital in delivering high-quality support to our clients. A valid driving license and vehicle are both essential for this role. Please note we do not provide sponsorship for overseas applicants. You must be reliable, trustworthy, and above all, kind and caring. You will be trained to high standards by our external and internal trainers and our senior staff to carry out your duties to an exemplary level.
Your Responsibilities include:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide requested medication support.
- Support clients in maintaining their independence while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Communicate regularly with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
- Follow care plans meticulously to ensure that all health and personal care requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the relevant healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Provide complex support (with training) for PEG, NIV and Oxygen therapies, suction and tracheostomy.
- Provide holistic palliative support with multi-agencies to ensure dignity and respect in End-of-Life care.
Requirements:
- One year of experience in a home care, nursing home, supported living, or residential care home is essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
- A valid driving license and a vehicle are essential.
- Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining records and communicating with the team effectively.
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others is essential for success in this role.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays as required by the needs of the clients and the service.

- Early Shift, Late Shifts, Night shifts, long days, Weekends, and bank holidays availability, Live-in.
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Home care/Care Home/Support Work: One year essential
Language:
- English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (essential)
