Job Responsibilities – Health Care Assistant / Support Worker UK
In this capacity, you will give people the most important help they need in their own homes, making sure they are always comfortable and healthy. To give our customers the best help possible, you need to be able to communicate clearly and implement care plans. You need a valid driver’s license and a car to do this job. Please be aware that we do not pay for visas for candidates from other countries. You need to be dependable, honest, and most importantly, kind and caring. Our internal and external trainers, as well as our senior personnel, will give you the best training possible so that you can do your job well.
Your duties include:
- Help clients with their everyday tasks, such as getting dressed, cooking, and taking care of their personal hygiene.
- Give the required help with medication.
- Help clients stay independent while making sure they are safe and comfortable.
- Talk to clients on a frequent basis to find out what they need and want.
- Follow care plans exactly to make sure that all of your health and personal care needs are satisfied.
- Keep accurate records of how you care for your clients and let the right healthcare specialists know if their health or behaviour changes.
- Get clients involved in social activities to improve their mental health and give them someone to talk to.
- Follow health and safety rules to make sure that clients are in a clean and safe place.
- Offer complicated help (with training) for PEG, NIV, and oxygen therapy, as well as suction and tracheostomy.
- Work with several agencies to provide complete palliative care that respects and honours the person’s dignity at the end of their life.
Requirements – Healthcare Assistant Jobs in the UK
- You need at least one year of experience working in a home care, nursing home, supported living, or residential care home.
- To work well with clients and coworkers, you need to be able to speak and write English well.
- A valid driver’s license and a car are also necessary.
- Basic IT abilities are helpful for keeping records and talking to the team in a clear way.
- To do well in this job, you need to be kind and really want to help other people.
- You should be able to work different shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, as needed by the clients and the service.
