About Mabilla Energy & Metals Ltd

Mabilla Energy & Metals Ltd (Company No. 08181942) is a UK company with two growing business streams: international trade of gold and precious metals between Nigeria and the United Kingdom and professional energy consultancy led by our Director a chartered energy professional with over twenty years’ experience across NEPA/PHCN, the UK’s National Grid and Siemens. We are located in North Westgate House, Harlow, Essex.

The piece

You will be embedded inside our trading operations and offer the analysis behind our gold and precious metals trade including: market analysis, transaction viability, supplier and counterparty due diligence, currency and margin modelling on Nigeria to UK transactions and management reporting for the Director.

Main duties

• Analyse trends in global precious metals markets (gold, silver, platinum) and energy commodities to help purchasing, selling and hedging choices.
• Perform financial and operational analysis of proposed transactions, including margin computations, counterparty risk assessments and currency exposure on cross-border trades.
• Undertake appropriate due diligence on suppliers and counterparties, including assessment against LBMA responsible-sourcing criteria and UK AML laws.
• Develop business cases and feasibility assessments for new consultancy projects.
• Map corporate operations and find inefficiencies in trade workflow, procurement cycle and client onboarding.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly trading performance reports for review by Director.
• Stay up to date with current UK and worldwide regulatory regulations affecting metals trade.

What we are searching for (has to be)

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or similar discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in business analysis, trading support or commodities consulting work.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with experience in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI or equivalent).
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of UK financial legislation and AML compliance relevant to commodities enterprises.

Better

• Master’s degree or professional qualification (CFA, CISI or similar).
• Direct experience with precious metals, commodities markets or UK-Africa trading routes.
• Familiarity with the KYC/KYB due diligence processes.

Sponsorship and Salary

£36,000 – £50,200 per annum subject to experience and circumstances.

Subject to Home Office restrictions, we can sponsor adequately qualified candidates for a Skilled Worker visa.
