- Keep accurate records of the care you give, following the rules and standards of your organization.
- To make sure that care is delivered in a coordinated way, you need to be able to talk to clients, family members, and healthcare teams.
- Help clients take part in social events and outings in the community when it’s acceptable.
- To make sure that both clients and staff are safe, you should always follow health and safety rules.
- Use IT tools to keep care records up to date and write down any observations that need to be made.
Requirements
- Having worked in a care home or offered home care before is a plus, but not required. You will get comprehensive training.
- Having a valid driver’s license is helpful for jobs that involve going out into the community or visiting people.
- For efficient communication with clients and team members, you need to be able to write and speak English well.
- To keep electronic care records up to date, you need to have some basic IT skills.
- Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to follow care plans exactly as they are written.
- A kind person with great people skills who shows compassion and understanding for the needs of clients.
