Pharmacy in CTMUHB has a strong culture of learning and development with a focus on support and well-being. We work collaboratively across all sectors of pharmacy as ONE team. All sites have established medicine management services and electronic discharge systems. Digital solutions for prescribing and managing medicines are due to be implemented. Pharmacists-led clinics are well established, and pharmacy staff are valued members of clinical multidisciplinary teams.

CTMUHB is excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our service as a rotational Specialist Pharmacist.
Pharmacy services within CTMUHB benefit from a strong culture of learning, development, and staff wellbeing. We work collaboratively across all sectors of pharmacy as one integrated team, with established medicines management services, electronic discharge systems, and upcoming digital prescribing and medicines management solutions. Pharmacist-led clinics are well developed, and pharmacy professionals are recognised as key contributors within our multidisciplinary teams.
In this role, you may rotate through several core clinical ward specialties (medicine, surgery, admissions, paediatrics, mental health) and also within the Governance and High-Cost Drugs Team, contributing to the delivery of our work plan to ensure the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines for our local population.
The successful applicant will contribute to the Emergency Duty Service, and the post will also include weekend/ bank holiday working as per the rota.

Essential
- Meets all essential criteria for aptitude, abilities, and skills
Desirable
- Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are Desirable for this Role.
- Financial modelling and forecasting skills.
Experience
Essential
- Significant post-registration pharmacy experience
- Experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Broad experience in clinical pharmacy
- Experience in primary care pharmacy
Qualifications
Essential
- Master’s degree in pharmacy
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Postgraduate diploma in clinical or hospital pharmacy, or equivalent clinical experience
- Good knowledge of medicines management
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
- MSc in clinical pharmacy
- Evidence of building your portfolio for the RPS Faculty
- Independent Prescriber
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
