Overview

The Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles to a high standard, ensuring all work meets company quality and safety expectations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on all vehicle types
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection
• Perform mechanical repairs, including brakes, suspension, clutches, timing belts, and engine work
• Prepare vehicles for sale to retail-ready standard
• Complete job cards and record all work accurately
• Conduct vehicle inspections and report additional work required
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and within agreed timeframes
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
• Follow all health & safety procedures and company policies

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a motor mechanic or vehicle technician
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Good knowledge of modern vehicle systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• close attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Full UK driving licence

Qualifications (Preferred)

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• MOT Testing Licence (advantageous but not essential)

Working Hours

• Full-time position
• Standard working week (details to be agreed)
