In this job, you’ll help with a variety of daily accounting activities, make sure that financial records are accurate, and make sure that data is entered correctly and quickly. You’ll be in a fast-paced, helpful place where being detail-oriented and taking the initiative may truly make a difference.
Accounts Assistant Responsibilities | UK Accounting Jobs
Main duties
- Help get ready the monthly management accounts
- Do bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Help with accounts payable and receivable processes
- Help with VAT returns and following the rules set by HMRC
- Keep your financial records and ledgers up to date.
- Help with year-end finances and getting ready for an audit
- Process journals, payments that have already been made, and payments that are due
- If needed, help with processing payroll (PYE).
- Use QuickBooks for your accounting work.
Accounts Assistant Requirements | UK Jobs for Graduates & Experienced
What you need
- AAT qualified or partially qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or anything similar
- Experience as an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Assistant in the past
- Work abroad resources
- A lot of understanding of UK VAT rules and accounting requirements
- Good at using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks and Sage…
- Very good at paying attention to details and analysing things
- Great at organising and managing time.
Additional Skills (Preferred)
Useful skills.
- Experience with payroll and PYE submissions
- Getting used to processes at the end of the month and the end of the year
- You should be able to work alone and with others.
